GreenOps Ammo was founded in January, 2016, and is headquartered in Williamsburg, Virginia. The original technology was invented at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (an affiliate of the College of William & Mary), and further developed with generous support from the Virginia Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund (CRCF).
Jason McDevitt (CEO) - Jason is an MIT-trained PhD chemist, and has worked in the chemical, biotechnology, and consumer products industries. He has been a patent agent since 1999, having drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications, and he is an inventor on 28 issued U.S. patents. He previously worked in R&D and new business development at Eastman Chemical Company, Novo Nordisk, and Kimberly-Clark Corporation before moving into technology licensing at the University of Georgia (and currently at the College of William & Mary). He is a former biotech entrepreneur, having founded and served as CEO of Extinction Pharmaceuticals.
Wade Blackwood (COO) - Wade is a Peace Corps volunteer, a hunter, a W&M-trained MBA, and the former Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Zota Pictures. He is concurrently the managing partner of Mobjack Binnacle Products, a Virginia small business that has commercialized a biodegradable escape panel for fishing traps, and the Executive Director of the American Canoe Association.
GreenOps technology was licensed from the College of William & Mary and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. GreenOps co-founders (and VIMS marine scientists) Kirk Havens, Kory Angstadt, Donna Marie Bilkovic, and David Stanhope also invented the biodegradable escape panel technology commercialized by Mobjack Binnacle Products, and serve as consultants for GreenOps.
